While you can't force Google to index a page instantly, there are several proven strategies to significantly reduce the time it takes.
Submit URLs Through Google Search Console

Build Strong Internal Links

While Google has stated that social signals aren't a direct ranking factor, sharing new content on social platforms can indirectly speed up discovery. When your content gets shared:
- Other websites and blogs may link to it, creating external backlinks that Googlebot follows.
- Social platform pages themselves get crawled by Google, and URLs mentioned on them may be discovered.
- Increased traffic to the page signals to Google that the URL is active and worth crawling.
Sharing new content on platforms like Twitter/X, LinkedIn, relevant forums, and communities won't guarantee indexing, but it increases the chances of Google discovering your page through multiple channels.

The Google Indexing API provides near-instant indexing for specific types of content. Currently, Google officially supports it for:

- While some SEOs report success using the Indexing API for non-job/non-livestream content, Google officially only supports those two content types. Using it for other content may work today but isn't guaranteed to continue.

Common Mistakes That Delay Indexing
Even if you're doing everything else right, these mistakes can slow down or prevent indexing:
Accidental Noindex Tags
This is more common than you'd expect. A development-environment noindex tag that makes it to production, a CMS setting left checked, or an SEO plugin misconfiguration can silently block indexing. Always verify that new pages don't have a noindex directive before promoting them.
Broken or Missing Internal Links
If your new page isn't linked from anywhere else on your site, Googlebot may never discover it — even if it's in your sitemap. Always create at least a few internal links to new content.
Slow Server Response Times

Duplicate Content Without Canonicals
If Google finds multiple versions of the same content (with and without www, HTTP vs HTTPS, trailing slash variations), it has to figure out which version to index. This slows down the process and may result in the wrong version being indexed. Use canonical tags and consistent URL structures to avoid this.

For the fastest indexing, combine multiple strategies:
- Publish the page with strong internal links from existing, well-crawled pages.
